Join the Massachusetts (and New England) Chapter for our third range day of 2025!
We'll be shooting OUTDOORS at Northampton Revolver Club (NRC) in Florence, MA. We have arranged with NRC to rent their 100-yard Range. This is a 100-yard outdoor range where rifle, shotgun, and pistol cartridges are allowed. We will move the single firing line as needed during the day to accommodate handguns and long guns. We'll have the entire range reserved from 9AM until they close at 5PM. We'll have a communal lunch starting at ~12:45PM, and running until ~1:30PM. We will stop shooting at 4:00PM in order to have time to clean up the range, have a debrief, and depart before they close.
A safety briefing and range orientation will be conducted promptly from 9AM-10AM, and anyone arriving after this will need to check in with one of the LGC Range Officers to have a safety briefing before uncasing any firearms. There will be limited steel and paper targets and target stands available, and you're welcome to bring your own steel targets as well as paper targets. NRC sells classic NRA targets 3/1$ for small, and $1/each for big targets.
Expect fun plinking, trying out others' firearms, timed drills if people want, and maybe "competitive" shooting (dueling tree, plate races, etc). Also expect some members of NRC to visit to chat and see what the LGC is all about.
Range restrictions are minimal: no full-auto, and shotguns are limited to slugs. No 50BMG or larger is allowed. Holster draw is technically allowed, but we haven't decided if we'll allow it at the range day. We will be required to collect all brass casings, and clean up the range, so please bring gloves and plan on helping with clean up.
The cost for LGC members is $40/person, which covers the whole day on the range and lunch. Non-LGC Member guests are $45. We will cap this range day at 30 people for now, and if we exceed that, we can open up more spots.
We'll have a communal lunch with grilled chicken, kielbasa, and tofu dogs, but I would suggest bringing a cooler with drinks and maybe some snacks to share. Anyone with any food allergies, restrictions, or intolerances should email me so we can plan accordingly. If you want to bring a side dish, please feel free to do so. $5 of your registration fee will go toward the cost of lunch, but additional donations would be appreciated.
