LGC VA Legislative Action

We are continueing to get ready for  the LGC VA Lobby day in Richmond!  We have set the date for Jan 20.  This year with the House of Delegates in the hands of the Republicans, Democratic Control of the Senate and a Republican Governor, I don't expect much to happen.  However there are some bills that we are keenly interested in:

• HB1422:  Legislatively allows USCCA certificated instructors to use the USCCA curriculum to qualify people for the VA Concealed Handgun Permit.  We are trying to get LGC added.  I've gotten national leadership involved on this as it dovetails with their priorities. 
  
• HB1427 and SB805:  Remove the ability of localities to bar lawful concealed carry on public property.  We are most interested in excluding outdoor areas (like parks).  

We will be meeting virtually this Thursday (JAN 12) at 8pm to continue reviewing proposed legislation.
