Dementia from Alzheimer’s or other causes can lead to impaired thinking and memory, meaning that even the most trained and skilled firearm owner may no longer be safe to handle weapons. When and how should families and friends address firearm safety in the context of dementia? Dr. Emmy Betz is an emergency physician and national expert in considerations about safe firearm handling in dementia, and she leads the Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative at the University of Colorado. In a one-hour session, she will present an overview of the issue and provide practical tips for dementia caregivers and family and friends, followed time for questions.

Questions will be answered live in Zoom.

And as always, you can view this event if you can't make it to the livestream after the fact on our website at https://theliberalgunclub.com/online-learning
